In Colorado, the child has the option of attending any school in the district (called the election within the district) or outside the district (called interdistrict choice), provided there is space. Students attending schools is not satisfactory is given preference. The low-income students in grades 1-8 who attend low-performing schools are eligible for transportation tokens to attend a different school. Students also can attend charter schools.

Under the federal No Child Left Behind law, students attending a Title I school designated as "in need of improvement" have the right to attend a performing school in the district. So definitely it won't be the school closings,
